VRT, in conjunction with Citect and meter manufacturer EDMI, have recently completed the first phase of the major Regional Utilities Management System (RUMS) for the Australian Department of Defence. This system covers the major South Queensland bases of Enoggera, Amberley and Oakey, and will be a major contributor to Defences Greenhouse Gas Emission objectives in the coming years.

In 2010, VRT in partnership with Broad Construction Services and the Queensland Government, implemented Energy Management Systems for Aspire Schools as part of the South East Queensland Schools Project.

In 2007, JPC began implementing efficient water management practices. VRT Systems was chosen to assist them to introduce world's best practice to their commitment to sustainability.
