This document provides a brief summary of VRT System's experience in the provision and support of (waste) water monitoring systems at distribution and reticulation levels over an approximate 25 year period. It also covers the range of technologies employed over this period and comments on those of the future (based on IoT technologies).

 

The University of Queensland (UQ) is one of Australia's oldest, most selective and comprehensive universities. UQ has 50,000 students across 3 major campuses and many other satellite research facilities across Queensland.

Barangaroo South is Sydney’s largest urban renewal project since the 2000 Olympics and is targeted to become Australia’s first large scale carbon neutral community. Barangaroo is one of only 17 projects globally to be part of the C40 Cities-Clinton Climate Initiative’s Climate Positive Development Program.

VRT, in conjunction with Citect and meter manufacturer EDMI, have recently completed the first phase of the major Regional Utilities Management System (RUMS) for the Australian Department of Defence. This system covers the major South Queensland bases of Enoggera, Amberley and Oakey, and will be a major contributor to Defences Greenhouse Gas Emission objectives in the coming years.

In 2010, VRT in partnership with Broad Construction Services and the Queensland Government, implemented Energy Management Systems for Aspire Schools as part of the South East Queensland Schools Project.

The XTrack platform is the result of a joint R&D effort between Xstrata Technology and VRT Systems. The Product Tracking System was designed to provide Xstrata Copper with the ability to track finished product inventory levels and provide traceability of individual bundles.

The key purposes of this are:

Sucrogen is the largest raw sugar producer and refiner in Australia and the eighth largest producer globally.

The Queensland Rail (QR) SMARTS Project is a proof of concept project the encompasses the design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, trialling and maintenance of several concept technology solutions designed to monitor and protect QR rail assets including Rail and Temperature Monitoring (RATS), Level Crossing CCTV System, and Bridge Impact Protection System (BIPS).

In 2007, JPC began implementing efficient water management practices. VRT Systems was chosen to assist them to introduce world's best practice to their commitment to sustainability.

EDL operates a power generation station at the BHP Cannington silver mine located in North-West Queensland, 200km south east of Mount Isa. The power station is critical to BHP's mining operations, as such the reporting and storage of station load shed and run-time event data is considered paramount for effective management.
