Product Summary
MacroView is an open software system providing solutions for industrial plant data management, real-time data management, control and SCADA applications. At it's core MacroView provides an environment for the easy implementation of high quality real time aware applications. Typical applications include process control, SCADA, material movement, facilities management, batch control and production tracking. MacroView's graphical library and configuration system means that application development is a simple combination of drawing and "fill in the blanks".
MacroView is developed and marketed by Motherwell Information Systems. Motherwell offices and authorised MacroView distributors sell and implement MacroView based systems world-wide. This section contains only a brief description of the MacroView suite of products.
MacroView is installed in over 340 companies and sites world-wide servicing over 3,900 users. All MacroView systems are generically multi-user and support remote access for plant monitoring, remote support and remote system engineering.
Functions
MacroView's primary functions are to:
- Collect data from a variety of industrial control systems and data acquisition devices.
- Distribute data to all levels of an organisation via graphical displays, PC interfaces, and corporate mainframe communications.
MacroView also provides:
- An advanced graphical user interface to plant data for multiple users at the operating, supervisory and management levels in an organisation.
- Alarm and event information management.
- Data archiving and reporting facilities.
- Integration of associated database applications such as laboratory, quality, recipe, etc.
- Data transfer to user PC applications and corporate computing systems.
- A development environment for high level control and production management applications.
MacroView Companion Products assist by managing other data used in control such as statistical data, operator logs, task lists, etc. Other companion products enable live MacroView data to be transferred to user spreadsheets and Oracle databases. Open Systems Concepts
MacroView is based on Open Systems concepts. MacroView server software runs in a true multi-user, multi-tasking environment provided by Unix and Windows NT on a variety of hardware platforms including PCs, or RISC based workstations and servers from DEC, SUN, HP and IBM. Users can access MacroView graphics through a variety of devices including PCs, X-terminals, and workstations.
