Citect +Enterprise Suite

The Citect +Enterprise Suite is a family of products that help to build and deploy a standards-based CitectSCADA solution, and once commissioned, to support enterprise level management and maintenance functions. It includes tools to dramatically improve staff productivity, accelerate project ROI and reduce risk through the entire automation system life-cycle.

Out of the box, CitectSCADA™ provides a flexible environment that is largely free of implementation constraints. Consequently, one issue that CitectSCADA system owners face is that of standardisation (enterprise-wide configuration, reusability, standards-based development) and ongoing systems governance (change and control, user management, system maintenance, etc). This is particularly relevant in larger projects where poor Engineering practices can creep into system development. This can lead to systems being commissioned for the end user which suffer from ongoing maintenance and management issues.

The Citect +Enterprise Suite can address these issues in any CitectSCADA implememtation, but in particular: 

• Multi-site implementations of SCADA systems (e.g.: series of similar operations)
• Multiple single-site SCADA implementations that operate in concert (e.g.: systems for plant monitoring and control, fire system, facilities management, manufacturing cells)
• Large-scale CitectSCADA implementations (e.g.: 10+ user systems which would benefit from enterprise-grade management functions).

Suite Products

The Citect +Enterprise Suite is a collection of tools that operate as a cohesive information and management platform for CitectSCADA systems. It easily integrates with CitectSCADA software out-of-the-box. To achieve the maximum benefit from its use, naming standards and system design standards are encouraged during the development phase of the project.

KickStart

A structured framework for the rapid development of standards-based CitectSCADA systems.

• The Enterprise Navigator includes advanced alarm and trend applications, with true multi-monitor support.
• The Navigator reads much of its configuration from a database, so many changes can be made on-the-fly with far fewer recompiles.
• A structured tag & page naming hierarchy (customisable) enforces consistent design standards.
• The Navigator uses the structured page hierarchies to provide a logical and consistent page navigation system for operators.
• The KickStart Library contains a range of pre-built components and pop-ups, to accelerate development and ensure consistent standards.

Citect +AC

Application-level clustering technology provides a single CitectSCADA configuration image across all nodes in the cluster.

• Heartbeat functions, system health monitoring & reporting keep the system running smoothly.
• Browser based configuration and diagnostics for easy remote management.
• Dynamic node discovery allows new nodes to be added on-the-fly, and be reflected automatically in all system health reporting.
• Seamless replication of configuration settings, user accounts, auditing information and other application-specific data dramatically reduces maintenance overhead.
• Replication is opportunistic, so CitectSCADA nodes are not dependent on cluster services for normal operation.

PlantPortal

A fully-featured portal delivering browser-based applications driven by Plant data.

• Reporting engine - delivers reports that can be rendered in a wide range of common formats (e.g. HTML, PDF, and Microsoft Office Formats). 
• Commenting functions and work-flow engine allows scheduled reports to pass through defined approval processes.
• Ideal for delivering plant performance information to management users that don't need full SCADA functionality.
• Strong security model with support for SSL encrypted sessions, and integration with corporate directory servers (for user/password synchronisation etc).

Citect +AC (Application Cluster) is a management infrastructure for standard CitectSCADA™ systems, built on the foundation of the Enterprise Navigator. Out of the box, CitectSCADA demonstrates a strong capability in supporting distributed and fault-tolerant architectures, however as systems scale to a large number of nodes then system management becomes an issue. Citect +AC complements CitectSCADA's standard features with a node-management framework for large systems that allows a network of CitectSCADA nodes to be managed as a single, cohesive system.
