Training & Support

VRT Living Lab

Over the last few years, we've been converting our office into a smart building demonstration facility. Current capabilities include:

Smart power metering Power quality metering
Smart water metering Energy and water monitoring
Weather monitoring Digital displays - tenant, community engagement
Remote monitoring Cloud based data storage and display - Web and BYOD - WideSky®
Smart LED lighting (internal) Visual workplace - 3D, games-based, real-time visualisations
Interactive social media public displays (Enplug)

We currently have over 3 years of operational data that represents real world operations and have recently made additions on the external of the building to demonstrate smart city functions and integration:

Smart street lighting CCTV (with storage - DVR)
Smart parking Smart bins
Duress station Vehicle tracking

We also have an  interface to Telstra's smart city management platform (Cumulocity) - already developed and demonstrated separately.

While we have given preference to testing and demonstrating products supplied by Telstra's smart city ecosystem partners, we are open to working with other partner products too. We have other activities under way to increase the level of interactivity including (limited) public access, live social media integration, integration with partner offices to demonstrate benchmarking, etc..

Watch this space for continual growth and innovation.

Training

Training can often be the difference between the success or failure of a project. Structured and thorough training minimises maintenance and systems support headaches. VRT can offer project specific training and simulations (based on its 3D games technologies) tailored to each customer's individual needs.

VRT offers both operations level and maintenance/engineering level training options for each project we implement. Tailoring training to the specific needs and uses of the operator allows us to provide instruction in a more efficient and detailed manner. We offer training for the technologies and suites we implement, and can also design bespoke training programs and simulators for a client's specific needs.

Support

VRT regard support as the most important function of our business. We have an extensive and secure remote support capability enabling our engineers to connect to a customer's site or system 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Most of our larger customers have entered into long term support agreements designed around their individual projects and requirements. Some of these support arrangements have been in operation for almost 20 years.

VRT does not operate under a 'set and forget' philosophy. Our Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are comprehensive and detailed, designed for clarity and transparency to support ongoing relationships between ourselves and our clients. They detail standard support functions such as guaranteed response times, scheduled site visits, upgrades and reports. This includes remote modem and phone support, and onsite support where required. VRT's SLAs can also be tailored on a project by project basis, so that you're getting support for the things you need and not paying for the things you don't. With VRT, you will have a single, continuous point of contact, so that you are dealing with an engineer you know, and who knows your system.
