Energy Developments Limited - Generator Reporting System. EDL operates a power generation station at the BHP Cannington silver mine located in North-West Queensland, 200km south east of Mount Isa. The power station is critical to BHP's mining operations, as such the reporting and storage of station load shed and run-time event data is considered paramount for effective management. In response to imposed constraints and an extremely tight timeline, VRT created the Generator Reporting System. Department of Defence - Regional Utility Management System. VRT, in conjunction with Citect and meter manufacturer EDMI, have recently completed the first phase of the major Regional Utilites Management System (RUMS) for the Australian Department of Defence. This system covers the major South Queensland bases of Enoggera, Amberley and Oakey, and will be a major contributor to Defences Greenhouse Gas Emission objectives in the coming years. Read more »

CS Energy - Mica Creek Revenue Management. Mica Creek is a small power station managed by CS Energy, located near Mount Isa that supplies feeders to the Mount Isa Mines sites and the local grid. VRT, in conjunction with Datec, were selected to provide a MV90 industry equivalent tariff metering system. Read more »

Ergon Energy - Power Distribution Management. Ergon Energy has the responsibility for the supply of electricity to some 413,000 km2 of South West Queensland. This vast area includes only 90,000 people and it takes approximately 40,000 km of supply lines to get power to them. This low population density and large geographical dispersal makes the control and monitoring problem unique. A distributed MacroView server architecture was deigned the most appropriate solution to address the issues of great distance and diverse location. Read more »

Cairns City Council - Water & Waste Water Management. Cairns is the hub of the tourist Mecca in Far North Queensland. The many natural attractions include tropical rainforest, lakes and waterfalls, the Great Barrier Reef and the warm winter weather. Among its many responsibilities, the City of Cairns provides water and waste water services for the Cairns area which doubles in population at the peak of the winter tourist season. MacroView acts as a telemetry system for the remote monitoring of the water and waster water system consisting of two treatment plants, the city's reservoir system and approximately 200 pump stations.
