Mica Creek Revenue Management Module

CS EnergyMica Creek is a small power station managed by CS Energy, located near Mount Isa that supplies feeders to the Mount Isa Mines sites and the local grid. VRT, in conjunction with Datec, were selected to provide a MV90 industry equivalent tariff metering system.

System Features

The revenue management module, Toht, imports data from a series of EDMI tariff meters (renewal and check) collecting demand and time of use of data. The system is totally integrated and configured around an Oracle RDBMS. Through the interrogation and validation of the data they system is able to analyse and store data enabling the display of trends, alarms and the production of report summarising total consumption, time of use etc.

Having established billing determinants, the system can also produce detailed billing information for each customer. The database incorporates Oracle technology which consequently enables the transfer of data via corporate networks for further analysis of results, using PC based tools (e.g., Excel, Lotus 123).

Performance and status of each meter can be readily checked via the uniform GUI interfaces, which enables MIMIC display of individual meters and overall diagrammatic representation of the meter network. A GPS connection also provides the ability to synchronise time via external time signals in accordance with Queensland grid code.

Optional features include the ability to incorporate load shedding analysis and control and meter management facilities.

Benefits

Toht represents a new generation of utility billing providing both the supplier and customer with extensive performance and billing information facilities. Tariff billing information can be summarised by time of use and customer ID, etc. Data can also be readily interrogated via corporate network for management reporting.

System performance can be monitored by individual meter and analysis of reading for purposes of load shedding and survey can be readily implemented.
